It is our third day of training in Nanjing. We are familiar with the surroundings and that put us more at ease. We have learnt from the Nanjing coach techniques on how to master digging and passing of balls. New friendships have been forged as we get to train and play with the Nanjing students.

Two lessons that I can apply back in Singapore.

  1.  I have learnt that if I want to achieve anything in life, be it in studies or CCA, I have to put in effort for a successful outcome.
  2. I have also learn to be humble so that I have the right attitude to pick up new skills and soar to greater heights.

Day 3 of training

We set off early today to avoid the traffic jam. We had another grueling day of training in the morning, guided by a Nanjing coach. Afternoon was a friendly practices with Nanjing High school team.

My first impression of the team from China: They are tall! But despite the height advantage they were humble and focus during training. As a team they are very united and even though they have an exam on Monday, they made time to attend training and gave their best.

Training with Nanjing volleyball students

My major takeaway from today's training is to learn to enjoy volleyball and to remain focused during the training. During my interaction with the Chinese players, they patiently taught me the correct techniques of receiving and spiking.

Day 1 Reflection

We have arrived at our hotel safely and we are looking forward to the training tomorrow.

What are the 3 things I hope to learn from this trip?

  1. I would like to experience the different training techniques in another country
  2. I can learn to be independent without our parents and domestic helper. I have to be be accountable for my own well-being.
  3. The  importance to to be on time.
